IACA Annual Report 2018 cover web

This report describes a year full of activities and challenges at IACA, as the organization undertook to consolidate its efforts to help prevent and fight corruption, on the one hand, and dealt with the severe financial crisis, on the other.

During 2018, while reiterating its commitment to the United Nations Convention against Corruption (UNCAC) and to the OECD Anti-Bribery Convention, among others, IACA was focusing on specific areas, such as the nexus between national and regional security and anti-corruption efforts, the nexus between corruption and cybercrime, the use of a human rights approach to tackle corruption, addressing systemic corruption within the migration context, and corruption in aid/humanitarian assistance.

Furthermore, IACA has been repeatedly underlining that investing in anti-corruption education and empowerment is essential for the realization of the UN 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. In this vein, the Academy joined the UN-backed Principles for Responsible Management Education (PRME) initiative.

Finally, IACA continued to promote and implement the principle of gender equality and female empowerment in the selection and recruitment of its staff, participation in its programmes and trainings, and the awarding of scholarships.
