IACA Regional Summer Academy - Central and South America is an eight-day interdisciplinary programme for professionals in this region seeking to sharpen their anti-corruption skills. This will be the sixth in the series of regional programmes modelled after IACA’s successful annual Summer Academy. The Regional Summer Academy is designed to address region-specific topics relevant to anti-corruption and compliance professionals. It will be held in São Paulo, Brazil from 20 to 27 September 2019, and aims to bring together anti-corruption and compliance professionals to enable the exchange of knowledge, experience, and good practices from 20 countries and areas in the region. Target Group |
Professionals from countries and areas in Central and South America with a minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience in the public or private sector, international or non-governmental organizations, as well as media representatives, and researchers in areas related to anti-corruption and/or compliance. Alternatively a level of junior engagement demonstrating the applicant’s potential. |
Countries and Areas | Nationals of Argentina, Belize, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Guyana, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Suriname, Uruguay and Venezuela are eligible to apply. |

Scholarships and Tuition Fee Waivers |
IACA offers a limited number of scholarships and tuition fee waivers for participants from Least Developed Countries as defined by the United Nations, and for citizens from IACA Member States, listed under the World Bank Classification of Countries by Income as the Lower-Middle- and Upper-Middle-Income Economies. Scholarship/tuition fee waiver are merit based and can be granted only to applicants who have not been granted a scholarship/tuition fee waiver by IACA before. |

IACA Regional Summer Academy – Central and South America is an interdisciplinary programme that promotes a deeper understanding of corruption, prepares participants to better address challenges and promote best practices, and offers frameworks for durable anti-corruption and compliance strategies.
Internationally renowned professors and practitioners combine theory with real-world case studies, providing fresh insights on regional issues and challenges.
The programme consists of lectures, a roundtable, an excursion, and a teambuilding exercise.

Admission Requirements
- A minimum of five (5) years of relevant work experience, or alternatively a level of junior engagement demonstrating the applicant’s potential
- Proficiency in written and spoken English, Portuguese or Spanish
- Citizen of a country in one of the UN Central and South America geographical sub-regions are eligible to participate in the training
Participants will be selected taking into account their professional and academic experience.

Tuition Fee
The tuition fee is 210 EUR and covers the costs for the training, including a welcome opening dinner, accommodation for eight nights, meals, and refreshments.
Travel and Accommodation
Accommodation will be arranged by IACA and is covered by the tuition fee.
Participants are responsible for their own flight arrangements to São Paulo, Brazil.
Insurance
Participants are responsible for their own medical and travel insurance and any associated costs.
Visa
Participants requiring a visa for Brazil are responsible for their own visa arrangements and any associated costs.
IACA’s fourth Regional Summer Academy, for anti-corruption and compliance practitioners in East and Southeast Asia have gathered to exchange experiences and ideas thirty professionals from Cambodia, China, Lao People's Democratic Republic, Malaysia, Mongolia, the Philippines, and Singapore. They came from the private and public sectors, anti-corruption bodies, and academia.

Some 55 professionals from 14 countries in the Middle East region joined IACA’s third Regional Summer Academy – Middle East. The programme, which was is co-organized by the Kuwait Anti-Corruption Authority (Nazaha), was held in Kuwait City, Kuwait, and took place from 9 to 14 December 2017.

IACA’s first Regional Summer Academy – Latin America – brought together Spanish-speaking anti-corruption and compliance professionals from ten countries in the region.
